Mutants in Music I Minimal Dominion

Mixed, glued, connected. As a multidisciplinary ensemble, uBu plays in the space where contemporary music and dance meet—using different mixing ratios, impact speeds and adhesive surfaces. The first edition, “Mutants in Music: I. Minimal Dominion”, brings together two newly created works: one developed under choreographic dominance, the other under compositional dominance. Choreographer Naïma Mazic stages the playful search for a shared language between music and dance as a flirtation. In his piece, composer Ui-Kyung Lee places the listening body at the centre as a medium and explores the musical spaces of response shared by performers and audience.
